Below are some of the many questions we receive about the vacation rental home and surrounding areas. We hope they are helpful in making your stay at Entertainer’s Paradise more enjoyable.
Q: How far is the beach?
A: Coronado and Mission Beach are just 20 minutes away. We include plenty of clean beach towels with your rental as well.
Q: Is there a Costco nearby?
A: The nearest Costco is located on Fletcher Parkway, which is very close to the house. Please note that there is no gas station at this Costco location.
Q: Is the house wheel chair accessible?
A: Our home is not ADA Accessible. The showers are not roll in showers. The house is all on one level with the exception of the living room, which is 2 steps down. The entrance to the house has no steps to arrive inside. To the backyard, there is a 4″ step out of the kitchen sliding door. Most people in wheel chairs choose to go around the side of the house to the backyard (which is a flat path).
Q: What kind of coffee markers do you have?
A: We have many coffee makers because we know it’s important! Traditional Drip, Keurig and French Press are all available in the kitchen.
Q: Do you allow dogs?
A: Yes we do. We understand that pups are part of your family. We love dogs! You will be responsible for damage, including peeing inside, and scooping all the poop in the back yard. If there is damage, we will take it out of your deposit.
Q: Can we use the garage?
A: No, the garage is where we stage all products to run our vacation home. We also have our private paperwork and personal belongings in the garage. It is locked and not included as part of the vacation rental.
Q: Can you recommend any good restaurants?
A: We suggest the following restaurants for a nice meal in La Mesa:
• Basilico La Mesa (Italian Food) – Great Italian food from a couple from Milan, Sara & Stefano. This restaurant offers easy free parking and tasty food.
• Casa De Pico (Mexican Food) – This restaurant used to be very popular in Old Town San Diego until lost their lease. They offer inside dining, patio dining and happy hour at the bar. Taco Tuesday at the bar is great as well! Inside has the mariachi band and can be a little loud.
• The Brigantine La Mesa (Seafood & Local’s Stop) – Great fish tacos and good happy hour. This restaurant is located .5 miles just down the hill from our home, so easy to get to!
Q: Why should we stay on Mt Helix instead of the beach?
A: As a local, we know all about “May Gray” and “June Gloom”. These are two months where the marine layer is thick and the beach never sees the sun. At our San Diego Vacation Rental, Entertainers Paradise receives sunshine all year long. At the beach, the homes are smaller, parking is difficult and you are sharing a much closer space with all the people packed in at the beach. Staying a little outside from the beach areas offers a quiet, family focused stay. Private pool, private BBQ and free parking for 6-8 cars. With a 20 minute drive to the beach, if it’s too cold, you can come back to your private pool and BBQ to enjoy the sun!
Q: Are there any good areas to walk or go for a run?
A: Just walking the streets right outside the property is very enjoyable. The neighborhoods are very safe and friendly. If you are more ambitious, take a walk to the top of Mt Helix. We also recommend Cowles Mountain which is a very tall, difficult mountain to hike. Only hike in the morning and be sure to bring plenty of water!
Q: Is your house good for couples?
A: Our house has 3 bedrooms and a game room. For privacy, up to 4 couples would have their own private space.
Q: Is your house good for children?
A: The yard is fenced but the perimeter of the pool is not fenced, so it is directly accessible from within the home. As long as your children can swim, the house is wonderful for kids. It’s all one level and the bedrooms are at one end of the house and the game room is on the other side of the house. Perfect for the kids to play and watch TV without being noisy and disturbing the adults.
